Start finding a match?

• Each player to find a match must make a session with a given set of preferences, The below points will describe how to do so.
  • Press the play button on the navigation bar to start queuing for a game.
  • The preferences that would be needed from you:
    • Game : Badminton or Pickleball
    • Type : 1v1 (Singles) or 2v2 (Doubles)
    • Mode : Casual or Competitive
    • Area : The area around which you would like to play.
    • Date : Select a date within the next 1 week.
    • Timeslot : Select a timeslot in which you would like to play in the day.
    • Invite a friend?: If turned on, You will have the ability to invite a friend to your session. (Read more: Invite friends to play with me?)

Pay?

• Payment gateway information: Which payment gateway does compete use?
• Players will be prompted to pay when a location has been found for the match.

Leave a match?

• A match can always be left by clicking on the leave button on the Session page in the app. Please remember based on what the stage your session is in, It could have repercussions for all the players in the match. This is explained below for each status:
  • Waiting for invitation to be accepted → No penalty, No other player affected
  • In Queue → No penalty, No other player affected
  • In match confirmation → No penalty, Other players would be pushed back in queue where they will (or will not) find other players to form a match. Hence, Try to confirm matches unless future commitments have sprung up.
  • Finding location → Penalty applied, The match will find other players in high priority and if no other players are found, The match would be cancelled.
  • Location found and payment pending → Penalty applied, The match will find other players in high priority and if no other players are found, The match would be cancelled. Any player who has paid will be refunded.
  • Waiting to play → Penalty applied, The match will find other players in high priority and if no other players are found, The match would be cancelled. Any player who has paid will be refunded.

Leave a match after paying?

• The same way as Leave a match? If penalty is applicable then a partial refund would be done.

Invite friends to play with me?

• Turn the “Invite a friend” toggle while setting the preferences for your session. Then an invitation link would be given to you which can be shared with the player you want to invite to join your session.

Note

Due to the competitive nature of every match that is done through compete, We as of now do not allow the ability of inviting opponents for both competitive and casual games. The opponents are always found based on the average rating of your lobby so that we can guarantee the highest level of match experience to our players.

Note

Invitation only works for: Badminton doubles and Pickleball doubles.
