Badminton is taken seriously in Chennai. There are courts across the city — Anna Nagar, T. Nagar, Kilpauk, Mylapore, ECR, Velachery, and beyond — and a large base of players who have been playing the game for years. What has been harder to find is structured competitive play outside of closed club circles.
What Compete runs
Compete organises weekly and monthly ranked badminton tournaments across Chennai, for both singles and doubles. Events are distributed across partner courts throughout the city so that competitive play is accessible regardless of which part of Chennai you are in.
Every tournament is officiated by a Compete umpire or tournament director. Scores are confirmed officially — not logged informally, not self-reported. Results feed into each player's skill rating on the public leaderboard.
How to find upcoming tournaments
All upcoming badminton tournaments are listed at compete.win/tournaments. Filter by sport to see only badminton events. Each listing shows the venue, format (Knockout or Round Robin), date, and whether the event is ranked or casual.
How to register

- Payment and confirmation happen within the app
What to expect on the day
Arrive early. Check in with the tournament director, warm up, and check the fixtures board or the app to see your draw. You will play against opponents you may have never met — that is the point. Fixtures and live standings update in the app throughout the event.
How your rating changes
After a ranked tournament, your skill rating updates based on your results. Wins against higher-rated opponents move your rating up more than wins against lower-rated opponents. The badminton singles leaderboard and badminton doubles leaderboard reflect updated standings after every event.
