Sponsoring a Compete tournament — how it works

Compete tournaments attract active, competitive players across Chennai. Here is what tournament sponsorship looks like and how to get involved.

Every Compete tournament has a prize pool listed on its event page before registration opens. That prize pool can be supplemented — or in some cases entirely funded — by a sponsor. Here is how it works.

Types of sponsorship

  • Prize sponsor — you contribute to or fund the prize pool. Your name is associated with the prize structure throughout the event and on the event page.
  • Title sponsor — your brand is the named sponsor of the tournament itself. The event carries your name across all communications and on-day presence.
  • Equipment sponsor — you provide shuttlecocks, balls, or other equipment used during the event, with branding presence accordingly.
  • Venue sponsor — applicable when working with a specific partner court where the event is held.

Who attends Compete events

Compete players are active, competitive, and urban — typically 18–45 years old, playing regularly, and engaged with the sport beyond casual weekend sessions. They travel to venues across Chennai for competitive play and follow results through the app. For brands targeting an active, health-conscious demographic in Chennai, Compete events are direct access.

What a sponsor gets

  • Named presence on the tournament page (visible to all players browsing events)
  • On-day branding at the venue — banners, announcements, equipment presence depending on sponsorship type
  • Association with competitive sport in Chennai's growing racket sports community
  • Specific terms agreed ahead of the event — no surprises on prize distribution or visibility commitments
